Community development for new and emerging communities
The Refugee Community Development Program is a collaborative project covering Albury (South East NSW) and Wodonga (North East Victoria). The Refugee Community Development Program is based on an innovative community development model which aims to identify local solutions to address local issues.
Working in partnership with local service providers and refugee communities, the Refugee Community Development Program will provide ongoing opportunities to identify critical settlement and integration issues at a local level. Working closely with local service providers and refugee communities to develop and implement collaborative and sustainable responses to local settlement issues.
Key stakeholders for this program include the Refugees from Bhutan and African countries, established community groups who have no other support, local mainstream service providers, local councils, Community Relations Commission of NSW and the Victorian Multicultural Commission of Victoria.
