Albury Multicultural Youth Worker

The Albury Multicultural Youth Worker assists newly arrived youth by working with mainstream youth services and community groups in Albury and Wodonga, to break down cultural barriers and improve accessibility for young people from humanitarian backgrounds, to participate in Australian society in areas such as sports, music and dance.

Settlement Grants Program

The Albury Multicultural Youth Worker service is funded by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) under the Settlement Grants Program. The purpose of the program is to increase the independence and participation of humanitarian youth clients in Albury-Wodonga, in programs and activities offered by local youth services.

Eligibility

Settlement programs are targeted at people who have been in Australia for less than 5 years and who arrived under the Humanitarian program or Family migration with low English proficiency, and who are between 12 and 24 years of age.
